Lincoln County offers many benefits when compared to other potential sites for developing our Cooling System Division business. Among the most significant are: access to customers, a qualified cost effective supply base, and skilled workforce. Complimenting those benefits, LEDA has been a real partner, working diligently with HYDAC to overcome obstacles, streamlining the entire process of site selection and development.
Our decision to invest in North Carolina was the result of a long and involved process starting with the review of over 100 properties. In the end, Lincoln County was our choice for many reasons including the support of the local and state agencies, the strong local labor force, the value aspects of the community that match Aptar values, and the strength of the local college educational system and its support of business training. As planned, we began shipping products from our Lincolnton facility in early 2012. Our customers have been impressed with the site’s production capabilities and its overall appearance and cleanliness. We are extremely pleased with the efforts made by our employees to create this wonderful state-of-the-art facility.
The United Plate Glass family would like to thank LEDA for the enormous support they have offered during the entire process. UPG is looking forward to many years of prosperity in Lincoln County.
“We chose North Carolina and Lincoln County after an extensive research considering all of the fifth States, Mexico and Canada. Today, seven years later, I am confident we took the right decision, moving our headquarters and manufacturing facilities. Lincoln County has the necessary infrastructure to support our needs and the LEDA team is the differential that we needed. They work as part of our team, expanding our capabilities on the areas that are not our core business adding REAL value to our operation. The local manpower is friendly and they are always willing to learn. We have developed an excellent management team with local people. Other than the business infrastructure, the region welcomed my family and ‘”w’all” feel at home here. The school system is great and we have definitely improved our quality of life.
We brought our Board of Directors here (Lincolnton) because we wanted them to see the future of The Timken Company. This sets the Lincolnton plant as the lead of The Timken Company in terms of automotive technology.
Lincoln County is a great location for our company in that it has a historically good workforce, great community support and it offers perfect access for our distribution needs.
It's (Lincolnton) a great place to do business. It's set up perfectly for manufacturing, with a good supply of employees, and it's in a good place geographically for distribution.
Because of LEDA's assistance and support, LeeBoy has decided to expand its Lincoln County site and not pursue other opportunities elsewhere for its continued growth.
